Muslims Life publishes Islamic reminders and educational content for a general audience. Our aim is to make beneficial material easier to understand while being clear about where religious claims come from.
Our sourcing hierarchy
Where a page makes a specific Islamic claim, we aim to prioritise the Qur’an and clearly identified hadith sources. When a point depends on scholarly interpretation, fiqh or a difference of opinion, the article should make that distinction rather than present one interpretation as though it were the wording of revelation itself.
Hadith references and authenticity
When quoting a hadith, we aim to identify the collection and reference where reasonably possible. If authenticity or grading is relevant to the claim, that should also be made clear. Short social-media quotations and unattributed internet graphics are not treated as sufficient evidence on their own.
Quotes attributed to Companions and scholars
Statements attributed to the Sahabah, early generations or recognised scholars can circulate online without a reliable source. We do not want an attractive quotation to become an attribution simply because it has been repeated many times. Where a reliable source cannot be established, the attribution should be removed, qualified or clearly marked as unverified.
Older Muslims Life content
Muslims Life has an archive containing material first published several years ago. That content is being reviewed progressively. The review includes spelling and readability, broken links, duplicate headings, unsupported claims, weak or missing references, outdated wording and misleading titles.
Evidence, explanation and practical advice
An article may contain all three, but they should not be blurred together. Direct Qur’an or hadith evidence should be identifiable as such. Explanation should be presented as explanation. Practical suggestions should not be presented as though they carry the same authority as a religious text.
